Honestly though, where does Bastianich come up with these mannerisms? The clapping softly before he eyeballs you and walks away silently. Smelling everything before he bites the fork with his ****ing teeth while staring you in the eyes. God he's obnoxious. I don't think you just make that stuff up, I think he really does that stuff in private. The overall attitude is for TV for sure, but that's the least of the problem. Just use your Total Rewards card on the website to look for rooms. If you combine it with another card, it helps even more. Obviously, I play at Harrah's properties when I'm there, and my gf plays slots a bit, but we don't gamble high stakes or anything, but if you use your card, and combine with a companion number it gets you some nice discounts.

I've really never had an issue at the IP though, besides the elevators. And I try to take measures to avoid that. When 5 out of 7 nights are free, I'll deal.

IP is totally fine, just make sure to get a Deluxe Room. I was there like 2 weeks ago, and actually had a bed that wasn't as bad I remembered. I've never had an issue with it being shitty except when I tried to upgrade and got a higher room, but not remodeled, so yeah, Deluxe room it up.
