  1. Simple. Borgata and it's not even close.Trop is decent too, I only stayed for a couple hours though. Borg is dashit!Foxwoods, the place is fine but the rake is just dumb. The 2/5 game charges $10hr iirc. I was there twice. People are nice, game is soft but hard to beat the house. Higher limits aren't that bad but low limits are robbery.
    This post is dead-on. NH.
  2. Yes, we need someone respectable to win. Like someone who isn't a degenerate gambler, is a really nice guy, doesn't drink, doesn't do any drugs, and doesn't front for an illegal online offshore poker site. :D A good ole cowboy type, like Johnny Moss or Amarillo Slim. Respectable sorts. :D Good luck with your search.
:club::D Exactly what I was thinking after I read the article......NH
  3. The other pros say that it is Reese's emotional control that makes him so good. He never gets too down when he loses a pot and never gets too up when he wins one. He is just supposed to be a very cool customer -- he wins the most on the hands he wins and loses the minimum with the hands he loses. He never chases or starts playing less than optimally. That right there seperates him from 99.9% of most people who play poker (including, according the other professionals, most pros). This sums it up beautifully.......NH

  4. Yeah, you definitely should have walked away at that point. If you have a bad feeling about a certain table and feel like the players are better than you, then theve got you half-beat already and this can never be good for your bankroll. By the way, Ive never heard of this rule. Anyone else know anything about it???

  5. Yeah, who wants to see people donking off all their chips on the first hand to a bigger full house. Or boats being rivered by straight flushes. Or actual hands where the chips are deep and people can play. Boring!
LMAO....you summed it up wonderfully.....Some of us like to watch actual poker being played, not just crap-shoots.
  6. DO NOT use Reese's section as a guide to such low limit play....that is more designed for upper limits where you are usually in heads up or 3 way pots....overplaying big pairs in4-5 way pots..which often occur at those limits, is a BIG mistake. Not saying you should fold them...but be a little cautios....Big drawing hands play VERY VERY well in these games, if you have, for example, a pair of Aces and three diamonds on 4th street, or four to an Ace flush on 4th street in a 4-5 way pot, you should be jamming very hard most of the time. Can't do that with a concealed pair of Jacks in a 4-5 way pot. Basically, you just have to get some experience and learn from that...the biggest thing to consider is pot odds, as "chasing" is often correct on the later streets in big, multiway pots.
Well said, Kowboy.....this is spot on advice 8)
  7. Its called position. With a hand that has all four cards working together. The ace isnt suited, but it is definately good enough to see a flop with. I am baffled by the number of people that are spouting off about it being a bad hand, but make no comment on the POSITION. Where is smash when you need him? I am sure that he would have something to say about this hand (he may say that I am incorrect, and if so, so be it, but I value his comments greatly). 8)
Thanks man, I understand position...however, exactly how many boards do you think youre going to hit with this hand??? You have close to zero fold equity because its a table full of donks AND its Omaha.....as for Smash, Im laying odds he doesnt play this hand eitherP.S. Please explain bolded statement...how the hell are all 4 of those cards 'working together'????
  8. 1. I wouldn't have even been in the hand. That's an 8/b hand, not a high hand.2. I would have also thrown in a value bet with that many checks to me.
I agree 100% with both of these points.....when I first saw your hand I had to check and see if you were playing O8 instead of hi....not a good high hand, to say the least....
  9. There are not one, but TWO flush draws here people. That means there's not one but TWO possible freerolls we're up against.JsXs, and JcXc.  If I had either of those, I'm pushing the turn and hoping a naked J (exactly what we have) calls.$200 at 34, and if we're right about this, we're chopping the $200 already, and losing $200 18ish% of the time.Who here plays Omaha?  Something omaha vets know very well, and omaha noobs learn either quickly or the hard way, is that it's very easy to go broke flopping broadway w/ no redraws, or by being freerolled. Not a good edge.  We're not getting played at by worse than broadway here often enough to make calling off all this money very profitable.
    Well said, brother!!!
  10. I would have sat for a couple reasons....1)I have confidence in my ability to play for decent stakes-sounds easy, but isnt 2)If I lost 2k or so, my br would take a hit, but I would be able to build it back up(see #1)....I guess the point is I have faith in my game, and the money doesnt scare me.P.S.Good restraint, though...if you have any hesitation about sitting in a game like that, its best just to walk away

  11. I respect that.  I suppose I would spend quite a bit of time at the tables as well due to the fact FL doesn't have poker.  (not real poker at least)I was just commenting on the fact that 30 hours seems a little ridiculous.I look at it this way.   I love getting head.  But thirty hours of it in a row, even from a super hotty, would get boring and repititive. That's all I'm saying.anyway.  Congrats.
LMAO....Ron, you r the man.....I get your drift, brother....I guess im a sick SOB, cuz I dont get bored playing cards(Esp. if Im winning)
  12. You went to Vegas and at one point sat in a card room for 30 hours straight?  Good luck with that.
Why, thank you, Ron....I dont go to Vegas to 'have fun' in the traditional sense....making money IS fun to me.....My playing poker paid for my trip +$1500 so.....Good luck to you, sir 8)
