  1. Sorry Rowdy, photojean.... but I tend to agree more w/ naked_cowboy on this issue. Women only events are great. I've played them before and I think they serve an important purpose by exposing women to tournaments in a fun, competitive environment, that is supposed to be less threatening......I honestly believe as fun as these events are, they can limit us as poker players. Every poker player develops a well-rounded game by playing all types of people. We are not 1% of a field competing against all the males.... we are single players competing against every person at our table... finding t
  2. Well, as long as you put it that way.... Howard Lederer was a successful high limit poker player before the WPT. This was not intended to argue for or against any side.. I posted the link because I found it interesting.... If you listen to the interview he does not dispute the fact that the WPT has given him and others many opportunities. He just disagrees with the release form that players are forced to sign if they want to play.
  3. Interesting interview with Howard Lederer on 'The Curcuit' regarding the WPT lawsuit ....... (the interview is actually at the end of the show)http://cardplayer.com/thecircuit/Not sure whether or not I'm in agreement with the lawsuit but I appreciate the fact that no one wants to "possibly" be forced to endorse a product just because they win a WPT event. For the most part it just sounds as though they are trying stand up for what they believe in.Also interesting that two of the seven players behind this suit are lawyers.
  4. Congratulations Brian!!!You fulfilled our hopes and our dreams.... and played absolutely awesome.Sincerely,- Fern
  5. Ahhh Frank....I didn't know you cared.... Okay.... I think it's time to share with the group.... "Warm and Fuzzy experience #6"During the tournament we were asked to give up our phones and were basically sequestered. Because Daniel and Ali were able to see our hole cards and also commentating on those cards live for the webcast, we were asked to have NO interactions with anyone, including our guests. The reason was... our guests did have phones and if they spoke with someone listening to the webcast they could possibly get insight on our play... ie, how Seat #10 was bluffing Seat #2.... th
  6. Gee.... thanks for looking out for me Frankie.Ol Jerry and I would never want to intrude on you 'young guys'.As we get older it becomes increasingly difficult to make decisions for ourselves.
  7. So....Just reserve me the suite next door....Stop excluding me damnit!!!.... Everytime I read Daniel's blog about ... a bunch of us went out after Gretsky's.... and.... after the tournament we all got together.... I'm kind of thinking... who's we? Yeah, so maybe i need a little extra time to myself but at least give me the option. Maybe I want to come to Vegas and share a room with 9 guys.... I really did have a great time and enjoyed spending time and getting to know all of you. If any of you make it to L.A..... let me know. I'm at Commerce every Friday night.Take care,- Fern
  8. you can be sure I did..... but... he's actually just cream puff...
  9. That's great idea.... would also love to see it..... can't wait to count how many variations of 92o, 83o, and 63o I actually had Congratulations Brian.... I expect to see your name in the cash list of those big events..... Congratualtion also to you Sol for getting heads-up.It was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed playing with everyone.Definitely, the most polite tournament I've ever been in.... ;-)- Fern
  10. Oh, I get it now. Your thread titled.... "Where are these guys", was actually a rhetorical question.Hey, I might be slow on the come, but I catch on eventually... Gee, I was worried for a minute. Thanks for the reassurance. c-ya tomorrow aye
  11. I really do understand that you are disappointed that you weren't able to play against people you are familiar with.I took exception to comments like ... and I didn't say that you said I was an insignificant person. I said that making these types of comments, referring to us in the 3rd person is why people don't post..... it's as though you are talking to your peers about someone who doesn't belong. You made the 1st attempt in.... "Where are these guys"... Some of us tried to respond. It isn't always a lack of 'caring' that deters people from posting.
  12. No, my intention is not to give you "a good talking to". I am sure your seat was won with skill, desire, and perseverance. I am well aware that others deserved to win just as much.I take exception to the fact that every time one of us attempt to post and participate, we have you standing on the sidelines, virtually rolling your eyes, as if we should be taken less serious because you don't know who we are. It's a similar reaction to how us live players used to look down our noses at online players. We worked for years, under some pretty slimy conditions, just to have some hot-shot come in a
  13. Hey Loismustdie.... Just to remind you.... You won the 'FCP FORUM JUNKIE' seat. But the contest wasn't limited to just forum junkies. The contests which are, I wouldn't think of intruding on because I am well aware that I don't post. Personally, I am a lurker, always have been. I don't find much pleasure in reading RGP anymore but there are RGP events I wouldn't miss. During these events, I have never been excluded are criticized for not posting. Most people who post realize there are others who just enjoy reading which doesn't negate their validity or their opinions. Before the FCP sit
  14. LOL... When I initially saw the name, I also thought it was the guy from 2004 WSOP, Mattias Andersson. I even told my husband...if that guy starts screaming "JAHHHH" - I'm decking him ....;-)
