I like Cappy's suggestions added to this, but I think if you can strictly stick to these rules you have set for yourself you should be able to show some profit even if the rake is high. It also might help if you can find a table that has a high amount of people seeing the flop with a large pot size avg.

I signed up for a course offered by the DNR at the time of purchase. Going with a marksman to a range 2nite to go over some proper ways of handling/etiquette. if you r not worried about the healthy aspect pop it in butter/margarine (taste better than at the movies IMO). Easy if you have the pot with the handle on the side just place on heat and make sure to crank handle pretty often and consistently once it starts to pop. If you are just using a regular pot with a lid. you need to keep shaking the kernels around once it starts to pop I would keep picking pot up holding lid on with other hand and shaking place back down on heat just long enough to keep pan hot and repeat
