  1. If you listen to the interviews of a lot of players you'd notice that they do very much so care about being on a TV table. Lots of players choose which NLTH crap shoots they are going to play based on whether or not that tourney will be televised. I think the lack of television coverage is a huge reason why the WSOP Circuit events didn't get nearly the turn outs this year that they did last year. And changing any game to a different one for the sake of the television audience is total BS. Even if they announce it ahead of time, it is really lame. The WSOP should be about poker tournaments a
  2. I agree that the outcome seems improbable, but I would still be interested to see your progress along the way. As far as hitting that goal goes, if you really don't care about the money involved and you simply want to either hit the 20k mark or go bust, cash games are a much better way to go. While there is a ton more variance or luck involved, it is more reasonable considering the time frame. You would have to play an insane amount of volume to get there playing SNGs. And if you are relying on winning a MTT, then you are relying on luck all the same. My two cents for anyone that wants to
  3. Jesus Christ, you people and your f_cking post counts. How does replying to every thread with a short one liner make you smarter than other players?Let me be the first non-b@stard-@ss-b@stard to say: Welcome to the FCP forums.you're best bet is to move over to 2+2 if you want anything but assholes telling you that you are a donk.that said, you're a donk. Not really, but it seems dumb to be making moves like this so early.
  4. I know you didn't mention him, but I think Brian "sbruby" Townsend has to have one of the biggest all-poker-related bankrolls. He is up around 2m online from last month and 2m live this month. Plus, I know he has good bankroll management, which would suggest that unlike other big names, he can afford to play at the stakes he is at.
  5. <===== $1 flipament kingonly lost $0.01 to the other scavangers
  6. can't stay up that late, hang over and a job fair tomorrow. How about a MT SNG?edit: how about one of these 45 man SNGs?
  7. I'll play for a little while. I drank a sixer of those bacardi mojito drinks and they are NASTY. Yes, they are total b*tch drinks, but I was drunk when I bought them, so..... table name
  8. Brian is up over a mil this month online. He has pretty good bankroll management too, so I wouldn't be worried about him just yet.
  9. The 25/50 has been pretty good over at the B-Lauge. Some pretty sick deep stack action. My bud was playing 1,000 BBs deep over there and was covered by a few people at the table.
  10. this was truely a dissapointment.
  11. I highly recommend the book. I think it is great even for beginners since it gives a good insight into what it takes to be a poker pro. I prefer this type of book over a poker strategy book since most of those seem to take a very mechanical approach to poker.
  12. I agree with the capping the nuts strat. for this type of game (being that the play is probably sub standard). The only exception to this is if the nut low is a one liner. Say the board reads A345J, so now anyone with a 2 and either an A, 3, 4, or a 5 to go with it also has the nut low. Besides this exception, everyone seems to be on the ball with the math.
  13. Jebus, who are you talking to back and forth? I feel like I am on a bad date with a ***** that won't stfu. Granted you're complaint about one liners or people that quote one liners is kinda valid, I would rather read those than a rant. Plus those one liners boost their post count, which in an online forum is equivalent to penis size.
  14. I played a bunch at the Commerce during the LAPC and they seemed to never card anyone. I get carded all the time buying beer or playing in even the 18 and up casinos, but never once was I approached for the 2 weeks I was out there. Plus there are tons of little asian kids that look about 16 max and I never saw one of them get carded. Maybe they were more lax during the LAPC, but I wouldn't worry about it if you played out there.
  15. I got the pleasure of playing with Phil a little back in January and he still acted the way you see him on TV even when there were no cameras around. I was kinda surprised by the tantrums with no audience to impress. Also, by coincidence Huck Seed was sitting at the table next to us and they talked about the show before the tourney started. Phil was nice to Huck and said that after watching the show he could see that he had over reacted and that what Huck said was actually quite funny. On the plus side, Phil did go around and shake everyone's hand before he sat down a mere 2 hours into play.
  16. Defiantly have to be the WPT in Tunica. Played in the ME for 2 days straight only to run into a coin flip with DN, he wins, bust me and goes on to get second place. I am left with nada and 20 hours of my life missing.
  17. The cost of living in Vegas is pretty decent depending on which side you are looking at. The crime rate in LA is higher, so whichever side of Vegas you choose, you'll probably still be safer there than living in LA. As far as action goes, LA is sick. It is the NLTH capital of the world. Both LA and Vegas have sick mixed games that seem to always be the juiciest games around. I would suggest visiting LA before you decide to move to either. Some people love it out there and end up living at the Bike or the Commerce, but it defiantly isn't for everyone. I was out there for the LAPC for a c
  18. Why are you defending your blinds in a cash game, especially against a loose player that is going to call you? Did you really think there was any fold equity against an active player? Or did you think you were raising for value with your terrible POS hand? Let's say you did have the best hand PF, by what % would you imagine? The only hands you are holding over is KQ, KJ, etc. and maybe a 109s or something, but it is still essentially a coin flip. If you were raising for value, where you going to be able to call a bet on the flop if you completely missed and only held Ace high? Against a
  19. At the Commerce Casino in LA the time charge for 10/20 NL was $10 per half hour. The bigger games had to pay more time, but I think it capped out at $12 per half hour.About half the time everyone at the table payed their own time (even if you weren't at the table for the collection), and the other half the time our table would do a collection pot. The winner of the collection pot would then pay the time for all the players at the table. If you weren't dealt a hand for the collection pot you would be charged the normal time rake. For our the pot to qualify for collection it had to be over $
  20. After being a fan of the forums and DN for so long, DN returned the favor of my loyal support by trying to double me up in the second hand of level 10 during Day 2 of the WPO.The Hand:Blinds are 1,000 and 2,000 with a 400 ante. 66 people are left of the 294 starters (with top 27 getting paid). Our table is playing 7 handed.I am in the BB with 47,000ish in chipsDN is on the button with around 55,000 chips.UTG+1 raises to 6,000, DN calls from the button, I call from the BB with 10h9h.Flop: 10c9d8cI check, the PF open raiser checks, and DN bets 11,000 on the button into a 21,500 pot.I move all
  21. Even if you know the "ends and outs of poker" you defiantly need some kind of experience before hoping in. First thing first, I would make sure that you are ready for a pretty boring job and dealing with some terrible people. It isn't all bad, but it defiantly has its moments. As for finding a casino to start in: even the nicer casinos don't care if you have been certified; you have to work your way up. Like someone else suggested, humping a dealing job at a crappy riverboat or Indian casino is a good way to get your foot in the door. If you can't find a dealer school I would ask some of
  22. thanks for being helpful and not a do|_|che bag. That was the first thing I pointed out.
  23. He sent me about $1k on Bodog and I sent him $900 and change over Western Union. Then my Bodog account got shut down (that is why he uses the bodogmanager2 screen name). I called bodog and they said that money that he sent me was from a fake bank account so they were taking it back. They are based in Costa Rica so there is nothing they can do about it. I filed a report with my local police, talked to every company (AOL for his screen name, Western Union cause he picked up the $ there, even the Boston police) and no one cared. I even had a trace placed on my cell phone for when he called.
  24. The guy is 100% a scammer. It is sad to admit it, but he screwed me out of about $1k about 6 months ago. The same screen names, the same fake name. The guy still messages me every once in a while trying to get more money. I led him on for a while hoping the police would do anything (I filed a report and everything). Anyways, the cops did nothing at all and don't really care and I am out for $1k. Not a huge deal, but I wouldn't want to see anyone else get scammed. The kid is just lucky I don't live anywhere near Boston, otherwise I would be waiting outside a Western Union.
