  1. corrrect me if i'm wrong but isn't the wynn either a new casino or a new poker room that DN is closely associated with?IMO DN might be doing this to get the "buzz" started around the wynn, and if he is an investor in the wynn, the long tem profits would outweigh his losses if he lost a couple matches. If he's not an investor then the Wynn could just be staking him to try to pull high limit players away from the bellagioso his br could be 10mil or less and these matches aren't being paid by DN if he loses...sorry but my post could be complete nonsense if the Wynn isn't new or hadn't recently ad
  2. Is there any single big ringer to the boston game? Anyone see smash play live yet, and go up against the FCP forum legend?
  3. 1) should a person be tighter/looser preflop (as well as postflop) while playing in a no limit game as opposed to a limit game?2) How large should the buy-in be of a no limit game in comparison to a person's bankroll?
  4. do you guys really get good cards that often? i mean 21 percent of flops means ur getting AK AQ AJ (plus the occasional KQ KJ etc.) pocket pairs or suited connecters 1 in 5 times. Or do you have much lower starting reqirements?
  5. sorry for any confusion but i didn't mean how many hands do you play total, i meant out of the hands dealt to you how many do u see a flop with ( on avg. cuz i know this could fluctuate a great deal).
  6. that was meant to be for a full table and for shorthanded, as much info as i could get would be appreciated. I also meant to exclude counting free flops from your bb.
  7. Smash and any other who consider themselves good players:How many hands would you say you play on average. This is obviously going to change every time u sit down because a number of variable would effect this. So on average, per hands dealt to you, how many hands do you guys actually see a flop with.
  8. Why raise with these if you can see the flop for cheaper and then bet if you hit something or if you have a read; you might havce the better hand now but at this limit ur most likely always gonna see a flop and things could change so why not wait to flop soemthing before betting instead of comitting more money and risking the chance of flopping nothing? Also more callers preflop could mean more money. In a game with higher limits/tighter play i could see you would want to limit the field but people are gonna call alot of bad hands with a preflop raise at these limits and flop two pair to ur
  9. It's not that i'm losing money. I've been playing for about a year and a half, and i'm definately on the winning side. I'm just not sure if my winning is classified as short term luck or just solid play. I know i definately have come a long way from when i started. Things like observing other people's play when i first sit down, being more selective before the flop, realizing how big of an advantage position is. I do however play at very low limits, and my opponents pretty much suck and their biggest mistake is being a calling station, so I can only pretty much bet with the goods. But do
  10. how does a person find leaks in their own game? any specific methods? i know i have them but i'm not sure how i should go about finding them.
  11. Polka, at first i didn't think u got outplayed but after reading smasharoo's argument i'm not sure. Anyway, Smasharoo, i was wondering how you would have played against the guy who kept going all in.
  12. Sorry for such a silly sounding question, but what do u mean when u say value bet. I'm sure i have "vaule bet" in the past, i just didn't know what i was doing was called value betting.
  13. I think u guys are underestimating the value of check raising. First of all, when you are in early position with agressive players who like to bluff large amounts behind you, check raising is a way to trap them. You can also use check-raising to eliminate someone who's on a draw and semi-bluffing by coming over the top and squeezing a few more chips from the player. Also if you check raise early in a game and showdown a good hand people will respect your checks, and you can see alot of free cards later if you're on a draw. And as previously mentioned if you show down a few monsters while ch
