Yeah, lol, minimum wage...here and in the USA, minimum wage is a joke and marginalizes people who already have it tough for whatever reason.US minimum wage pageShould people be paid more for slinging burgers? Probably not, but when the cost of living puts your family of 4 in a 1 bedroom apartment and you have to depend on food stamps to get by, I'm sure those migrant workers are vacationing in some pretty special spots. Like a nearby park or something.

Just because the Russians fucked it up, that doesn't mean there is anything inherently wrong with Communism, at least on paper.

Oh, I see. Blame it on the Negroes. I thought that "Colonel" part of your name was rather Southern...You're probably on a list now. Maybe more than one. -
As well as harnessing her ability to charge $800 a session. That's money in the bank! Nah...this is similar to the old "If they are witches, they'll be able to swim out of trouble" axiom.

We may yet see cars like this reviewed on Top Gear. Those guys will do almost anything.Burn, baby, burn!Washington was burned in 1814, partly as a result of American incursions into "The Canadas" and their "wanton destruction" of a number of settlements along the north shore of Lake Erie. You got owned, Yanks. So screw Akoff and his revisionist history. The only reason the British didn't beat your sorry colonial asses sooner is because they were fighting Napoleon also. Duh. -

I support the concept of a neighbourhood watch, but the deployment of the mandate governing such entities needs to be under serious scrutiny. -

it is my belief that Zimmerman is a lying pos and should pay for his crime. But that's emotion talking and we all know the American judicial system doesn't tolerate emotion. -

goddammitIn retrospect, Jonas' play at tribal might have been a good one had he not stopped talking and defending his position. Then he lied through his teeth and practically admitted it, which sealed his fate. Lying is fine if you can get someone to take the bait and, hopefully, have a meltdown, but Jonas' attempt against Tarzan was incomplete. Also, why spend most of your time at camp getting confrontational with a guy you don't even get along with (yet is part of your "alliance") and not talking to other people who may be looking for a number in order to make a play? -
Exploitation Of The Trayvon Martin Killing
Mercury69 replied to Zealous Donkey's topic in Politics, Economics and News
Well, about the "anyone you don't recognise" part: I live in Toronto, a city with more than 5mm people in the GTA. I live less than 5 minutes from a major crossroad and I see literally dozens of people I don't recognise every single day. My street has a couple of halfway houses on it and young people, these days, tend to dress like they are gang bangers or street people. It is simply not possible for me to tag someone as suspicious just because I don't recognise them and I think it would be unreasonable for anyone to do so. This is probably true for most major cities and many smaller cities, su -

That loops back to what the definition of what "suspicious" is. And the allegations of Zimmerman harassing Trayvon prior to this incident are a factor, too. Godammit...what a huge cartload of shit
