  1. I have been reading allot of people have been having the issue. Looks like the echeck place got shutdown by the US attorney's office. Funny how they did it right at the start of World Series coincidence??? Here a is a link to the article http://www.gambling911.com/gambling-news/n...sor-060509.html
Yeah, I read that article last night while doing research about this. There was a link to it from a two plus two post. I couldn't find a date on it to see when the article was written. I just wanted to know when this whole thing started up. However, I just read from another thread that that side is like the online tabloid equivalent, so not sure how seriously to take it.
  2. All-Access pre-paid Visa it costs $9.95 to activate and $1.00 per purchase with the pay as you go option. Email Pokerstars and they will give you a link to the website where you can find somewhere near you that sells them. Good Luck!
Yeah, I actually, I have one of those. At the place where I apply for them, you can get your first one for free and your first deposit into it is free. All subsequent deposits at this location are $2.00 and it is also $1.00 per purchase without PIN and $2.00 per purchase when PIN required. I used to use the all-access cards when I feel like playing at UltimateBet. I don't like playing there, I only play there when the BadBeat Jackpot is big.Anyways, my card is empty and the store was closed (I assume) at the time I wanted to make a deposit to play on PokerStars last night. I guess I could go this weekend to the place, but after reading about all these issues, I make hold off a while.
  3. So, I wanted to deposit money for the reload bonus on PokerStars, but it said eChecks are currently unavailable. Okay, no problem, I'll just wait and play somewhere else in the meantime.I go to Full Tilt and decide to make a deposit, since I cashed out everything their a few months ago said it is not able to process eChecks at this time.Is this a coincidence and if not, does anyone know what's going on?

I mean to put this in General Poker, not General Strategy. Please fix. Thanks.----Nevermind, just delete this post. I reposted it there.

  5. Below is an email I sent to support. Anyone else having same or similar issues?-----------------To whom it may concern:I just updated my software and then when I tried to log in with my credentials, the login window disappears. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't a phishing scam or a virus. Also, when I have the client open the News window in the upper corner is blank. As well, the Help menu has News and My News grayed out.I tried to see if I can log on from another computer here at home and got the same thing. I am very nervous in case it is a scam or if my account got hacked. Please email me (at this account) if you see any money transfers whether it be deposit or withdrawals within the next day or so. I just want to log in and change my password just in case, but I can't seem to log in anywhere. I even tried just redownloading and installing the app from the site itself and still get the same results. The login window appears when needed, but just goes away no matter what I put in for the User ID and password.I also tried to connect directly without the router, just to make sure it wasn't a firewall setting or something and that didn't work as well. The last thing I tried was using a phone dial up to see if that would work differently, but to no avail. Please assist in whatever way possble.Thank you,-------------Oh, just got a response from them.Heh, kind of shows you they don't always read everythingHere is there response to me (bear in mind I just came home from work and have not logged on all day):----Thank you for your email. We are aware that the recent update has caused problems for some playerslogging in and has caused some players to disconnect. Our technical department is aware of this situation and is looking tosolve this as soon as possible. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have causedyou. 6. Yeah, this is just a shameless plug. But, anyways, as I mentioned in another thread I got an extra copy of Power Hold'em Strategy by Daniel Negreanu as an early Christmas gift. My friend knows I'm a huge Daniel fan but didn't know I already got this book before. So, I just put it on eBay.I figured you guys as General Poker Forum readers would want to try and get a good deal on this book. Here is the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=120347258743As as now (12/15/08 10:25pm PST) it's only at $13.50 with about an hour or so to go, so if there's an FCPer that wants in on this please take a look. The auction closes at 12:05am PST.

  7. Not seeing it.
Okay, put it this way. If I told two people to pick a card out of a deck and said the higher one (including suit raking) is the winner. Then whoever got the higher card definitely wins. But, let's just use a poker hand as an example. If two people are involved in a hand and player A actually has a better hand than player B, but player B (who let's just say has complete air) is sure he can take the pot from player A, because he believes he is confident player A will give up the pot. So, in that case you can take a pot even though you have an inferior hand. If one is more skilled to do so than another, therefore you can have an advantage. That above example was used in a court of law to defend that poker is not just a game of chance.
  8. Villain took a long time to play after the flop. I was worried about aces, but made a small raise to see where I was at. After the turn I had him off of aces and tried to milk it. Critique on all streets would be good. I don't know whether I messed up somewhere or lost the minimum.PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00+$0.10 Tournament, 50/100 Blinds 10 Ante (10 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.comsaw flop | saw showdownUTG+1 (t1325)UTG+2 (t1355)MP1 (t1270)MP2 (t1365)MP3 (t1775)CO (t1520)Button (t955)SB (t2475)Hero (BB) (t1955)UTG (t1005)Hero's M: 7.82Preflop: Hero is BB with K :4h, K :club:8 folds, SB raises to t200, Hero calls t100Flop: (t500) 7 :D, 7 :5c, 8 :ts(2 players)SB bets t100, Hero raises to t300, SB calls t200Turn: (t1100) 8 :qh(2 players)SB bets t100, Hero calls t100River: (t1300) 8 :D(2 players)SB bets t600, Hero calls t600Total pot: t2500Results in white below: SB had 6 :qh, 8 :D (four of a kind, eights).Hero mucked K :3h, K :D (full house, eights over Kings).Outcome: SB won t2500
I think you would have been better off reraising preflop if you wanted to find out where you're at. You would have to use your own judgment as to how much though. Depends how that player was playing as well as how the tables was, ie. loose, tight, etc.
  9. dude, the forum has spot pools all the time, those are random we host sports betting and last card of the wsop contests.don't make it overcomplicated, just make it random.
Yeah, I might just try to get a trusted escrow party to have them hold the money and maybe open it up to more people for less money. Since, this doesn't seem to be too successful. If someone has a list of trusted sources, that would be very helpful. I just needed this to work a few time to build up trust and reliability, but it's too hard these days.
  10. This way, you can set the stipulations as to who joins the tournament (only reliable FCP posters with proven track records) rather than -for example- an unknown poster with 100 posts per se, who starts a rather dubious thread which tries to get people to ship him money for a book which he has no proof that he even owns...
Why are people so quick to not believe anyone? Yes, I understand this is based on an honor system but I swear to you, I'm being extremely honest here.
  11. I'm game, but I have a modification to suggest.Since PokerStars only allows private tourneys to have a minimum buyin of $5.50, but you want to have it be a $4 contest with first prize being a winner-take-all book, here is what I propose:1) You set up a private $5.50 NLHE tournament on Stars2) Everyone who wants to join, post a reply here with their Stars username3) You transfer each person $1.50 (this is the net result of you transferring each player $5.50 to allow them to enter the tournament for free and them transferring $4 back to you for the cost of the book prize pool)4) Each player then enters the tournament and all people who finish in the money transfer their prize pool back to you5) You ship the book to the winner
Yes, but then I run the risk of people not holding up their end of the bargain. I'd rather just be the only one responsible, rather than making sure everyone that cashed do their part. I also run the risk of a lot of people just taking the $1.50.I like the idea of trying to get it lower, but I need a more trustworthy system. I'm open to suggestions.
  12. So its $4 plus the $5.50 to enter the tourney. $9.50 for a one and nine chance of winning a book?I just started up my fireplace and threw $9.50 in it. So I can't afford this.
Well, I would rather have a free tournament as well, but I'm not able to when using the Create Private Tournament option. $5.50 is the lowest I can set it at.
  13. Okay, so I got an extra copy of the book (my friend gave me an early Christmas gift knowing I was a big Daniel fan) and I decided instead of putting it on eBay or Amazon or whatever, I would have some fun and make a contest out of it.Now, because I live in California, it is illegal for me to hold a random lottery. So, here's what I'm going to do. I'm going to have nine people give me $4 and one of them will get the book. I'm going to make a private online poker NLHE tournament on PokerStars ($5.50 since that's the minimum) and whoever gets first place will get the book. I will even pay for the shipping (via Media Mail) since the list price of the book is $34.95.Here's how to qualify. Be one of the first nine people to send me $4 on PokerStars (patho) and make sure you include your FCP username under the additional instruction field. When I get the money, I will give you the password for the tournament. Please do not give out the password to others. If I see a name registered for the tournament and it is not one that is supposed to be there this contest will be null and void. So, please do not ruin it for others. I won't be able to cancel the tournament but I will give back a refund of the $4 paid to me.I will stop accepting people once it has filled up or if it has passed 23:59PST on 12-8-08. If it does not fill up by midnight tonight, I will give back the money to those that paid me.Here are the restrictions:1) Must have a valid account on FCP (so I can PM you the password)2) Must have an account on PokerStars (since that's where I will make the private tourney)3) Must live in the US because I'm only going to ship in the States.4) Make sure you can play at the time of the tournament. It is set for December 9, 2008. 13:00PST/16:00EST. Tournament ID is 125802239.5) No refunds unless it does not fill up or the contest becomes void in the way stated above. After you win please PM me with your address so I can send you the book. I will also try to be observing the game, so I can see you win, as well as cheer you guys on as the game is in progress. There's just one request I hope for. When you do receive your prize if you can write a testimonial so people can see I have a good reputation. I hope this is a success and if people like it, I can try it again in the future.PS. This is not a scam, so if you don't have anything positive to say...well, you know. I just wanted to try something different and hopefully fun.

  14. So, I was browsing around the PokerStars FPP Store and saw that one of the items you can purchase is a $7.50 Step 1 ticket for 500 FPP, but you have to be at SilverStar status. Since I don't play much I usually am a BronzeStar, however, I can still just use 500 FPP and register into a Step 1 SNG. I'm confused, so what am I missing here?
