I am also a no vote on the dumping the blog. I really enjoy reading the blog. I search for new blogs everyday. This blog is one of the things right with the internet. Honestly, I don't play anywhere near the limits Daniel plays at. I do use the blog as a comparison to how I live my poker life and real life. I don't think I would understand my own swings emotionally and financially without knowing guys like Daniel go through them also. I read this blog and Shannon Shorr's blog. I look forward to them whenever I can read them.I have learned so much through the blog. I hope this was just a mood. Like Daniel has said before, he does not owe the readers anything. That is true, but I hope kind words and support will help change your mind.I have laughed and learned with the blog. I will miss it very much if it were to go away. Daniel is a true inspiration to many and I hope a response like this will help to make a decision much harder. Don't go man.

I thought you Daniel would look dumb with his head shave. I actually like it. I started shaving my head last year. I was 29 and I had to do it out of necisity. I think Daniel should keep doing it. He could change the look for white guys. When Jordan started shaving his the brothers started doing it too. So, Daniel could do it to make it cool for white guys. For once I would have a hair style in vogue.Keep it up Daniel.

Maybe it is because SD doesn't have any mountains. Just cowboys. Not that there is anything wrong with that. Great Seinfeld episode. The cowboy you talked about Adam Jones, is he from South Dakota? I saw him on Cardplayer one of the 1st days of the tournament, I looked up his profile and said he was from SD. Being from SD we are a close knit group. Is he pro or did he win online? -

I read Jenna Jameson's autobiography last year. She was a dancer in Vegas through the late 80's early 90's. She talks about how and Executive of a casino in Vegas used to pay her $1000 a song to brush her hair. I bet it was Stupak. He either was an owner of the Stratosphere or an executive. I can see that guy doing that kind of stuff. She also said the guy would never let him dance for her.

My take on the TV Blog. Who hasn't been that mad when it seems like everything is against you? Nothing makes a person more mad then when you pay somebody to do something and they do it all wrong. Some advice on the Xbox, I keep extra RCA plugs around. Mainly because all my cords behind my tv get tangled up. That way if I want to move my Xbox, I just unplug the cords and get the free one to plug into the other TV.Take on Survivor: Where do they find any of these freaks? I love the show, but really this season is really strange. It seems like they went out of their way to find 2 ends of the spectrum.20/20: I can not believe anybody watches this show anymore. The show is the most one sided news broadcast. I will never forget how mad my dad was, when Barbra Walters did a show on truck drivers. I was like 10 at the time. My dad has been a truck driver since I was 2. Barbra made truck drivers all out to be drug enduced maniacs. They all take drugs or drive until they fall asleep at the wheel. My dad now has been driving for 28 years. He has never had an accident. I can almost assure you he has never taken drugs before either.Anyway, on to the education part. Yes a lot of that makes sense. I have never been one to throw money at a problem. Usually then you make a more expensive problem. I feel lucky to have grown up in a small town in South Dakota. Computers in my school were about 1 to 5 students. Of course we had out problems too. We did not have any accelerated courses. I would have been able to benefit from those.Kinky Friedman: In theory, I think he sounds cool. Unfortunately, we don't vote people like him in. If we do, we run them off. I honestly think people of the of US want people to lie to them. Jessie Ventura had that problem. He would often tell the people of MN the way it was, then take the heat for it. All I know in this country we need to get a 3rd or 4th party as a powerhouse. Dems and Repubs are too much a like. They want to sound different, but they are just in it to make the other miserable. There needs to be a 3rd or 4th party to be the swing vote.Fatal1ty: Yeah, I saw that too. He is sick. I think he has won $300,000. I think his endorsements are much more though. I don't know if any of you have had friends that are just wizards at a game, but I have. This kid in high school would just kill anybody he played at any game. It was amazing. He would get the new madden that day, that afternoon we would gather around to play. He would beat everybody by 50 or more points. He did this with every game. So, thanks for the Soapbox DN. If you like that show onf Fatal1ty, you will love the True Life on the eating competitors. You have to see that one. Maybe you could challenge one of them to a cracker eatting contest. Check it out, you will be amazed by these people.

When I was in college, I had a room right next to really dumb football players. Every single night one of the doorknobs would try to finish a gallon of milk in an hour. Sometimes 2 would try. They would throw in $5, the 1st one to do it was going to win that pot. Every single night one or two of them would throw up. You would have thought maybe after 1st semester they would quit. Nope, every single night for my freshman year.

I am not sure if this is racism or not. Like Daniel, I do not teach color or racism. I have a 3 year old son. I live in South Dakota. There is not a lot of diversity here. I think Minorities make up 7%, that is including Native Americans.Anyway, my wife is into R & B music. When my son was 2 years old, Usher was big with the "Yeah, Yeah" song. My son saw the video several times. At that point he made the assumption all African Americans were Usher. We would be watching baseball and he would say Usher when he saw the batter and such.I was pretty embarassed one day though. We were eating lunch and the doorbell rang. Run over to open the door. It was an African American selling carpet supplies. My 2 year old runs up and in an excited voice yells, "Usher!" The guy just looks confused.

What do we do if somebody sneezes now? Don't say bless your or gesundheit. Just say, "Hey nice sneeze."Anyway, I kind of thought PC was going by the way side. I mean you hear things here and there from small little tid bits in the paper. I remember when I was in high school prayer was a big thing. Prayer at graduation was the main thing. Why you would need to pray at graduation is beyond me. I mean I didn't really care one way or the other if we did pray, but why. I guess why not. I haven't heard about prayer in school for a long time. I know here in South Dakota there are quite a few students who meet before school to hold a prayer. That is cool that kids are devoted at that age. Like I have said, I am not religious either. I just like to see kids that take intiative themselves.
-
Not so much PC, but a rule by minority rather than majority. To be honest I am not very religious, but I don't mind them instilling the morals into my kids. My son is 3 and he is in daycare, I was surprised they had a regular christmas progam. I am happy that they did. I want my kid to know songs about christmas, I want him to know what Christmas is about.Even if you aren't religious the idea behind Christmas is important. It is the idea of giving. So, no matter what religion or non religion, being a giving person is important. Helping others is very important. We need to start making the minority having thicker skin. I am talking from the minority also. I am a person with no religion. I am pretty unsure of what I am, I may be agnostic, but I embrace the church, just because of the good things they do. I don't want this country to become a bunch of babies, words are words. Sure there are words that hurt, but the intent is where the words have effects. If you call a person a profane with intention, that is wrong, when you wish somebody merry Christmas, your intent is to be kind. When kids sing Christmas songs enjoy the sound, enjoy their excitement. Also, the christmas tree is a mascot of Christmas. The problem others have with it, is the religion behind what it stands for. A Christmas tree does not have anything more to do with Christmas then a 4 leave clover has to do with St. Patricks day or a heart with Valentines day. That is just assinine.

I think a lot of people read the discussions and are not really sure how Daniel comes off to others. This takes me back to the blog where he bought in for a large amount of money at a NL table where most everybody else had a fraction of his buy in. He was talking about how everybody was having a blast, but everybody in the forum misunderstood and thought he was being a jerk.Daniel comes off more comical than a disgruntled customer.

Just like athletes and actors, this all these people can own is their likeness. You would also have to recgonize that the WPT has benefited from people like DN. By him being a chracter and a ambassador to the public. They benefit from eachother. The WPT should have to have permission to use their likeness. I definately see a conflict of interest of the WPT having an on-line site. That would be like the NBA having a shoe company. Then because Micheal Jordan is a player in the NBA, using his face to sell the NBA's shoes, even though he is signed to Nike.I don't think DN's ego is getting in the way here. He is looking out for his hind end. He is looking out for his business interests.I like daniel, but my, how big egos get! Would he even have 1/4 the success from endorsers and other places with out the WPT. The WPT has exploded poker into what it is today. 3 years ago, hardly anyone would recognize him, now he is a" celebrity". The WPT has help fuel the enormous payouts in tournaments. Without the WPT you would not be where your at today, so don't be such an ass and give a little back! My how big egos can get! -
In the US, if you have big money, you can get anything done. I guess I have never had a huge problem with cashing a check at a bank before. Granted I have never had to cash large amounts either. I do know that most banks do not let you access the money as soon as you cash it.Most rules that banks have are to protect customers. I have had my checkbook stolen and I am glad they had a lot of red tape. That could have been ugly.

I will be out there 2 weeks before. I wish I would be for SuperBowl. My wife, the sweetheart she is, bought me a trip for my 30th b-day. A buddy and I are going without the wives.I am so looking forward to it, at least it will be the championship weekend. That and Morales vs. Paquino are fighting. I have never been to a big boxing match I am looking forward to many hours of poker and a boxing a match. Hopefully a nice trip to the nudy bar also.

I love that many of the players do not know you can check that. I use that all the time. Some of the sites don't offer that. I prefer not to play at those sites because of it.I have never done that though. Make somebody think that I have a device. They may seriously think you have it and report it. No good will come of that.

I agree it is sad that is an answer. I look at it a different way though. Bush's job is to take care of a nation as a whole. Not just Bush, but every president. As president he is to deligate. Our president has a lot bigger problems to deal with than what is happening on such and such street Las Vegas, NV. There are many things that should take place here. If the block is noticing increased crime, they should have a block meeting and have a crime watch started. Police are involved in that, they will see that the citizens are involved and will take more note to help then. The mayer and the city council should be aware of this also. They need to make decisions to make the neighborhoods safer. Your city council rep is where that should start. The US as a nation needs to take responsibility for what goes on. We can not and are not supposed to rely on the the federal government to take care of us. We are set up to go city, state then federal. Seems like we like to do nothing and blame federal. So, basically if Bush were to do anything he would just throw money at it. That has never worked. Involvement is what works.

I watched about 6 episodes this year. I would not say it was the worst, but by no means the best. I thought Boston and Chicago were bad. To be honest, I think Real World has lost it's edge. It used to be the 1st reality show out there. Now every channel has way more interesting shows. A few shows should just go away, Wifeswap or whatever it is called. Any swapping of wives should just not be done.Anyway, I have not watched Austin since the 4th or 5th week. I saw the finally commercial so I had to see what happened. Of course some petty fight, flamed by drinking turns into a drag out screaming match. In Nehimah defense, she talked about Iraq to death. I have never served, so what she did was very honorable. Sorry, I can't think of her name. I would never want anybody, friend or enemy, to go through a war like that. That said, shut up about it. I know several men who were in Viet Nam. I know this because friends or relatives have told me. My friend of 25 years dad was in Viet Nam. In the 25 years I have known him, I have never heard him talk about it once.So now we will have to wait for the next 7 beautiful people to take over a mansion and drink too much and get into a fight. I predict a gay/lesbian, a black angry man, a redneck, 3 hot girls and a jock will be picked. The jock will fall in love with one of the three hot chicks, the redneck will say something to make the gay/lesbian or black man mad. they all get happy and make a gauntlet.

Thanks guys. I have pretty much made up my mind that I am going to try it. 1st off, I have been to Vegas 2 times and this is my 3rd trip and I have never been to the Palms. One more question, what should I figure per person about $50 or am I looking at more.dsp, were you playing poker to win your $2,000. I played Excalibur and Stardust. Got my behind handed to me at Stardust. I did pretty good at Excalibur though. Where did you play?

I am a meat eater and I have heard good things about N9ne. I was wondering if anybody knew about how much to expect to pay when eating there. I did search Google. All I could find is Medium/ High price. Compared to what?

I like reading entries like this. I am going to Vegas in January, like to hear about places to check out.Personally my favorite like from Ferris Bueller is, "Camoron is so tight you stick a piece of coal up his but you would get a diamond in a week."

A pool hall here in town in South Dakota had the same thing. The boys in blue didn't care at all. The state lottery did. Here is the funny thing, I talked to the owner of the pool hall. The pool hall would have 2 tournaments a night. While waiting to play or after they got knocked out they would play the video lottery. The guy told me that video lottery was up 80% during his tournaments. After 2 months of having these tournaments he gets a letter. It says to stop or he would lose his video lottery license. So, he has no choice but to quit. Of course video lottery goes down again.Who would have thought having gamblers around gambling machines, you could make money. The state of SD hasn't figured that out yet I guess.

The show did get me to thinking though. I have a 3 year old. I don't have to do much monitoring of my downloaded sites. As my son gets older I will have to watch him. He already has a huge intrest in the game. I taught him the shapes of the cards and numbers. We play with the chips, stacking and he recites the colors to me. His favorite part is sliding all the chips into the middle saying all in. So, Party Poker players wouldn't even notice they are playing a 3 year old.I will have to watch that though. I am not afraid of him ever stealing my credit card and doing that though.
Why Guys Don't Hug.

I tell you why I wouldn't hug a little kid on the street. I would fear it is a sting set up by To Catch a Predator.Another reason, yeah I am not into hugs. I don't even like to hug friends or relatives. I remember DN writing about how he prefers the fist bump to the hand shake during the WSOP. I would much rather do that too. If every person who came up to me would rather shake my hand or hug, that would suck. How do famous people not get sick. Every person coming up wanting to spread germs.
