  1. Wow, that's great man.Lederer, Greenstein, and Phillips too? Greatest WSOP advisory committee ever!
  2. uh...get a real job?Learn some work ethic, then maybe you'll be able to manage your bankroll better.
  3. Battle of the Suckout Artists (from Paul Phillips' Blog: http://extempore.livejournal.com -- day 1 report from Bally's WSOPC '05)"There was a big hand at the next table that I watched after a clock was called on aaron kanter. He was facing an all-in from doug lee and had about 25K left. No disrespect to either of them but it was quite a funny confrontation because the nature of their recent television appearances meant I was watching "battle of the suckout artists." All that was missing was danny nguyen in the box. Finally as his hand was about to be called dead, aaron called and showed JJ.
  4. (1) Time management (don't bleed poker into every facet of your life);(2) Don't listen to people who don't know any better if you know what you are doing (e.g., you don't listen to the protests of a five year old when he/she thinks its a bad idea to go the dentist when her tooth hurts, do you?);(3) Don't talk about anything poker-related to people who don't care about it--probably almost everyone beloved in your life;(4) Win consistently.(5) Treat your playing like you are running a business which means you keep accurate records, and keep organized files on your play. This will also help y

  7. He's the new "Daniel Negreanu", except less phoney. (sw)EDIT: If Negreanu reads this. Don't take it personal buddy. I'm just playin' with you. You've gotten better the past few months.
  8. Boss, you can do both. Play poker and become an anesthesiologist. You seem like a smart guy, and I'd hate to see you flush away your potential at a more meaningful life playing poker. This lifestyle is not something I would wish on people with opportunities to become, for example, an anethesiologist, a lawyer, or an accountant. Some people just don't have those opportunities. People whose future is flipping burgers at White Castle, trash man, or used car salesman. etc. have different choices to make. Why give up your opportunties to play cards? Why not do both? Play profesionally, pu
  9. Rest in peace amigo. We won't forget.
  10. I play the sunday Stars almost every Sunday.Good luck bro.
  11. ESPN WSOP. For your average viewer. Higher entertainment value, low poker purist value (like you've said before). No serious poker player would value this show for the play alone. No chip counts, too many profiles... it disrespects the more historical match-ups. ESPN needs to take some of the televised games more seriously. Doyle's 10th and Johnny's 10th come to mind.WPT for the poker purist, but has high cross over appeal for your average viewer--not for mere entertainment--but for entertaining and luring more hardcore "degenerates" into the game. It's too long for your casual viewer,

    birthday

    Happy birthday boss!
  13. Good positive energy here without being too nitty (2+2) or appearing to try to hard too be cool (NWP).2+2 and NWP, there is a lot of negative energy there for some reason. There is a prodigious amount of positive energy in FCP!!!!!
  14. The loyalty of these guys is incredible, especially among the long-term FCPers. You know that when some of these players go on to become more successful tournament circuit players, they'll always remember their roots, and give shout outs.
  15. I think the proper rebuttal, if you can't do a good joke, is to just smile and agree with them and be happy. I find it drives that type of person just crazier. Also, I added a hyperlink to Paul Phillip's blog where Mronos is the new Jopke. Like 'morans' is on FARK.comIf you don't get an inside internet joke then, it just means you have a life. But, if you try to correct people, when you're just ignorant and probably more like a Hellmuth tool than you realize.good post.Layne Flack is good at it. He has this way of belittling his opponent without being nitty or obnoxious. It might also be becau
  16. Yeah, a good way to deflate someone's ego or nitty criticism is to do a reverse psychology rebuttal. Basically, agreeing about how right they are, how much of a donk you are, and how they have so much to learn from them.
  17. dont plagiarise matasow comebacks and think no one notices. You're right, I "plagiarised". My bad.
  18. This experiment isn't going to break him. It is afterall an "experiment".I don't see why anyone would be concerned, or offer advice. He's just testing the boundaries of his game. What he'll learn will enlighten him and all of us.
  19. List rebuttals here for future reference by FCP'ers when faced with a player like Hellmuth who thinks every move he makes is perfect play, and every move you will every make is donk play.Example:Hellmuth-like player: "Mronos alwasy draw." (Hellmuth)Rebuttal: "When I go home at night, I think to myself, "God I wish I was [insert Hellmuth-like player's name]" (Mike Matusow) (sw)List more in this thread...
  20. Negative fold equity here boss. For a deeper explanation go to tournament strategy and post there, some anal strategy guy will calculate the rough numbers for you.
