Along with reading books/disusing hand histories, tracking poker results and analyzing stats is probably one of the most the most efficient ways to improve ones poker play. This is because a lot of the time we are either unaware of our true results and/or is easier to lie to ourselves.

This is just one of the many reasons why programs like PokerTracker is vital to online play.

It is also recommend players keep a detailed spreadsheet tracking their play both online and live. For much of the same reasons listed above, and also to track/manage their bankroll. Using these tools should help you decide where your money is best spent and maximize EV.

Poker Play Tracking
PokerTracker - Fantastic tool for analyzing your own and opponent's play with meaningful statistics.
PokerAce HUD - Best add on program for PokerTracker, which overlays your opponents stats on your table.
GameTime+ - Also overlays PT stats on your poker table, and is free.
PokerOffice - Similar program to PokerTracker for poker play analysis.
DogWatch Handgrabber - For saving Bodog hand histories.
PokerGrapher - Creats charts and graphs from your PokerTracker database.
PokerEV - A game analysis and session review tool that provides detailed EV statistics.
HoldemManager - Poker tracking software much like Pokertracker.

Spreadsheets
Cwik_PokerSpread - This is a spreadsheet I created myself, I highly recommend it, but I am probably biased.
HangukMiguks_Poker_Spreadsheet - A project created by many members on FCP.
SNGSpreadsheet - A super spreadsheet for sng's created at the 2+2 forums. Can be a bit intimidating.
Poker Tournament Formula Spreadsheet - For calculating tournament speed.

Online Resources

thepokerdb - Great source to see individual players online tournament cashes.
Official Poker Ranking - Another good site that shows players MTT scores.
Shark Scope - Tracks online SNG's, shows player profit and ROI.
Sixth Sense - Table selection tool, helps find the best games on the net.

Odds and Equity Calculators

PokerStove - The best program for figuring out your odds and equity vs a single hand, or range of hands, vs one or multiple opponents, for Hold'Em.
CardPlayer Odds Calculator - Online calculator for both Hold'Em and Omaha hands.
twodimes.net Odds Calculator - Good for Hold'Em, Omaha, Stud, Stud 8, Razz, and 2-7 Triple Draw.
SNG Power Tools - Sit n go equity calculator.

Hand Converters

Bad Beats and Good Vibes - Works for almost every poker site, for any Hold'Em and Omaha game.
Flop, Turn, River - Great for PokerStars and Party Poker hands.
7 Card Stud Converter - Works for most sites, for any form of 7 Card Stud.
Triple Draw Converter - For PokerStars 2-7 TD games, FL, PL, and NL.

Live Games

Home Game Organizer - A good clock software to run organize home game tournaments.

I'd recommend adding DogWatch Handgrabber and Arnold Snyder's Poker Tournament Formula spreadsheet. PokerStove should also be on there.
Zach6668
I added a few odds calculators, in addition to PokerStove.

Cobalt, if you have links to the other things you put there, post em or AIM me and I'll link 'em in the OP.
Zach6668
I added the converters as well.

cwik, I hope you don't mind me editing your post.

This is a great idea though.
cwik
Nope, no problem, and yeah I think this will be very helpful.

If anyone has any other resource they use post a link.

This came in really handy when I had to think about what to download for my new computer. biggrin.gif

Also, I added PokerGrapher.

What about places like PokerSourceOnline.com or BonusWhores.com? I also think a link to P5's strategy archives is a good idea-

Good idea. Advertise strategy forums that aren't ours.

Has anyone used Dogwatch handgrabber with Bodog ?

How much does it cost ? I couldn't find that info on their website without downloading their program.

Should I be concerned that their liscensing says they do not guarantee their program is bug free ?

It works fine, and a license costs like $19.95...which actually buys you the ability to use it on two computers. It has occasionally been a bit buggy and it didn't (might now) keep track of mucked opponent cards. That said, it's still a pretty functional and useful program. You can download it and "demo" the lower stakes games.

What overlay program works on Bodog? Currently, PokerAce HUD does not.
cwik
Added a section for live game stuff.

Oh......so even with Dogwatch, we can't use gametime+ to see our opponents stats at the table ?

As far as I know Gametime+ does not work with the new version of PT?#

Correct me if I am wrong.

There are some add on programs that make hotkeys and stuff for quick betting and things like that. Anyone know what those are? I know the 2+2ers use them. They should be on this list.

Hey Mark, looks like most players use a program called Auto Hotkeys. I've never used it myself, but let me know if any of these links are helpful and I'll add it the list.

What HUD stats are people keeping up on screen? In addition to the regulars I want Cbet% and Fold to Cbet% but it feels like it's making my screen a little too crowded. Am I being too ambitious? What are you guys using?

questions regarding cwik's spreadsheet. btw, this is the best thing since sliced bread. thank you sosososososo much.

anyway, under the sit and go tab i enter the SNG entry and then have to manually fill out the total profit. on the first one the total number was a profit (it is noted in green in the cell [cell 15/0]), but it marks it as a negative above.

also, it doesn't automatically calculate "total bankroll", is there a way to do this or do i do it manually each time?

thanks again cwik. i am seriously forever in your debt, and if there's anything you ever need (help on your english home work to a stake in a tourney) don't hesitate to ask.

luv.

Added Sixth Sense, a game selection tool.

If anyone has experience with them, I'd be interested to hear.

I think you should add http://www.pokerlama.com to the online odds calculators. It is an online version of pokerstove. Although it is not as fast as pokerstove, I really like it. It is better than twodimes for sure. It also does Omaha, though which is cool. I emailed the guy who makes it and he was saying he was adding a bunch of 7-card games too in the next few weeks. Although.....that was like a month and a half ago, so I don't know.

I love pokerstove so much and am very happy that it sounds like there will be one soon for razz. Does this work for O8?

Sorry to keep plugging it, but propokertools.com has pokerstove for Holdem, Razz, Omaha and Omaha 8. Plus, the tournalyzer is very, very useful.

I just came across a site called PokerDominator that has a program called "Session Tracking" I've started using to track my results. It's a free web-based tracking site that allows you to track a whole bunch of data and creates a whole bunch of nice looking charts based on that data. I'm very impressed so far, and it's free.

www.poker-edge.com is really good for getting a good idea of who your playing with at your table and how they play. without having to log alot of hands on them with PT

RealTime HUD

This is a free HUD for pokerstars/tilt (I think it works on a few other sites too) that works for Ring games or Tournaments, it has some features that PT lacks like 3-betting stats and a few others. Considering it is free I think it is a very good product. Click show all and scroll to the bottom to look for the latest update.

http://www.pokerevsoftware.com/

It takes a lot of explaining, but once you have an idea of what it's about it's more useful for analysing sessions than PokerTracker.
No_Neck
Anyone know what the best SNG analyzing software is? is it the one in the OP?
Zach6668
PT works well for SNG tracking.

If you're looking to implement the ICM and all dat, SnG Pro Tools should be the best. That is what the great Copernicus told me once.

So none of my spreadsheets are calculating the formulas when I enter numbers in.

Any ideas how to fix it before I throw my comp through the window?

edit: I guess I could have just used the help in Excel.

I know someone had the same problem on the last page, so I'll post the anser in case there are other idiots like me!

QUOTE
Change when a worksheet or workbook calculates
On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Calculation tab.

Under Calculation, select an option.
For Help on an option, click the question mark and then click the option.

If you select an option other than Automatic, press F9 to calculate all worksheets in all open workbooks.
To calculate only the active worksheet, press SHIFT+F9.

Note If a worksheet contains a formula that is linked to a worksheet that has not been calculated and you update that link, Microsoft Excel displays a message stating that the source worksheet is not completely calculated. To update the link with the current value stored on the source worksheet, even though the value might not be correct, click OK. To cancel updating the link and use the previous value obtained from the source worksheet, click Cancel.

When I try to view my PT tourney stats, this message keeps popping up.

PLEASE NOTE: You have imported hand histories for at least one tournament without also loading the corresponding summary for that tournament. The tournament summaries are essential because they contain the buy-in amount, fee, place of finish, etc. that are needed by this window. Until you enter/load the tournament summary, the information will be incomplete

I can't seem to find out how to get AP to send me the tournament summaries via email.

Anyone that plays on AP (i.e. Zach) know how to fix this? Thanks
