Raising this preflop OOP is tricky. Makes it tougher to play postflop.

On river only hands beat us call. If I am willing to get it all in , I'd give him a chance to bluff.

I do agree with that, however I wasnt raising to steal button, but rather to knock out others and build a decent pot. that was only goal, i knew being so OOP and being on a very loose table there was no way I was taking position.....and your idea to check the river intrigues me.......Ive been aggressive the entire hand...and then show weakness on river? hmmm.....

Well if weakers hand won't call your bet , and stronger hands will raise/call , you can do two things: Check/call or check/fold. Since only superior hands are calling , betting doesn't make sense.

We are checking and showing weakness because we want him to bet/bluff with a hand which he wouldn't normally call if we bet.
