Thing is, that $40 bet SCREAAAAAAAMS of a made straight wanted to take it down, so it's pretty well just an odds calculation type deal.
We only have 7 outs to boat up on the turn, so roughly, it doesn't look like we have the odds.
I'm too lazy to factor in stack sizes and implied odds though.
Thing is, a lot of straights will shut down when the board pairs.
So, that is why I favor chucking it.
Good point. Very much noted.
I didn't have much info on the guy who made the bet. But the way he threw out the chips just gave me the he's just a complete idiot feeling. One of the guys who smooth called had the I have the straight but I am unsure if I should raise here kinda look. I was more worried about that smooth caller than the $40 raise guy. Before he had even raised, dumping at the first display of strength had already crept into my mind. I would of called the $2. Not sure what I would have done when the 7:club: came though. Being a novice and a hold em player, I probably would have called the bet then lost my stack on on the river.
Thanks for the input.
