I'm small blind. 6 handed, I get dealt As Qs Qd Qh. Should I call a raise with this hand. What if the Qs is the Qc.

I don't like calling the raise. You nut flush draw is really the only good thing to come out. But you also have nut straight possibilities depending on the flop.

I'd wait for the more experienced but I say you can find a better hand to play since you're going to be missing outs.

I'd be even less inclined to call with the Qc.

Ignoring other factors such as stack sizes or the qualities of your oppositions.

With a pair your chance of hitting a set on the flop is 1/7.5.

With three of them your chance of hitting a set on the flop is about 1 in 50.

So will you play just two cards, AQs in a 4-carded game where you have a tremendous positional disadvantage?

Not sure where you got that from. It's 1 in 16 to hit the case queen. Nevertheless, muck this fast. Why waste more money on a hand that is going to make you check/fold the flop 90% of the time? I know people hate forfeiting blind bets...but sometimes it's a good idea.

Oops!

1. The chance of hitting the set with a pair = 1- (46/48)x(45/47)x(44/46) ~= 13% ~= 1/7.5

2. The chance of hitting the set with 3 in your hand = 1 - (47/48)x(46/47)x(45/46) = 6.25% = 1/16.

Yeah my bad I guessed I might had accidentally put in (1-47/48) instead of 1-(45/48) .

Daniel says that he plays like 95% of the hands online. I bet this one is in the other 5%.

No Daniel says he raises 95% of the time, may be he will just be calling with this hand and pot the flop no matter what comes. smile.gif

I don't really know how to play well with that loose-aggressive style, I tried at the $.01/.02 table twice but once I lost $5 another time I was ahead $3. A lot of fun but not much profits, players just don't care about pennies.

Ok, I tried it once at $200 and got burned. mad.gif

You really shouldn't be calling raises with anything in the SB, definately not with this.

good luck.

Does anyone's opinion change if the hand was AQAA, or is this equally unplayable?
