Player has shown to be maniac, openshoving crap like 53s and showing down. He has also shown a propensity to shove 10x pot on flops. How do we play vs this opponent with the apparent nuts?

Raise preflop?

Bet the turn?

On river, bet half pot again and be prepared to call a shove. You played this kinda weak so hopefully, he'll be inclined to bluff you off your hand.

^^^ This! It will definitely make your river decision a lot easier.

What's really your plan when checking this turn? Value bet this all day long on all streets.

If he is a maniac calling/raising too many bets, its time to v bet him when you hit your set.

The odds of him having a higher ace are pretty remote, especially when he checked the river and turn. He wants to get paid if he has the trips, and so do you.

Against a 'maniac' I am v-betting his ass the whole way here and instacalling a shove anywhere.

TNX for the replies guys and sorry for my slow input. I've been abroad without internet.

I would check the turn because I thought that would induce villain to bet into me. Really, if the maniac would raise any two pre and particularly so when I'm limping, why would i stop him by raising myself? its just that he took an uncharacteristically passive line in this specific hand of the match.
