i didnt reraise the flop to disguise my hand as well and keep the pot small until the turn... basically pot control... usually i 3 bet the flop to $2.50-$3.

no reads on villain becuase this was literally his second hand at the table, but the very hand before this.. it went down like this.

i prefer .30 open but .40 is fine. I reraise this flop to about $3 and see what that does, try to get AJ,KJ,QJ to go for stacks asap. as played im probably folding the turn, horrible card if we know villain chases hard then pushes when he makes his hand
--- ugh villain is really bad. This is either a J or a 7 or 810 and all of those are in his range (i know he could be full but i don't think that is as likely). wow most likely he has a st8 if that is the way he plays. wow i think i get away from this hand but I am not too happy about being put into such a though spot so early in a session with villain. Kind of a sick spot, we could have the best hand and letting villain aggro tard us off it but what can we do but wait for a better spot to stack him
tskillz187
This is like a 7 always. But you're 100bbs deep and this dude posted UTG+1. I have a little rule called me no foldy AA to tardos.
rbakken2504
I'd say about 80% of the time, this is some sort of 7, especially since he posted and at this level. The huge bet is probably a "protection" bet. But than again, he did post early, so obviously he isnt a decent player, so he could just have a jack...but since there is so little in this pot, i think folding is probably best.

This really varies per player, but as tskillz said don't fold aces to an idiot spewmonkey, esp not on a paired board. I am sometimes amazed what people show up with in these spots.

That little rule works about 40% of the time, which is enough. Me likey

w/ j-8o and raising you on the flop?

Why wouldn't he bet flop? He hit top pair, plus board paired.

i could have understood if he led out with top pair, at which point i would have raised him and then he can choose to 3 bet me if he wanted.

but i dont like check-raising an EP raiser with J8 on that board.

his line would have been better to lead out and fold to my raise, or to call my raise, eval the turn and then fold to my strong bet on the turn.

Worse generally don't call and better don't fold.

Why are we trying to figure out why a fish played a hand terribly?

He's a fish.

He played the hand terribly.

He's a fish so his line and his approach to the game will be totally different than the one you're suggesting right now.
