EDIT: I clearly did not realize at the time that I had a gutshot, or I would've bet the flop like always.

Table was the typical loose but not particularly aggressive. I'm relatively aggressive but not so much that I think SB checks a flopped set hoping to c/r.

I felt SB's lead on the turn was pretty strong since there was a very short stack in play. Once he does that and the shortstack shoves (And he could have mtc), if I rr that would show a ton of strength, but is it necessary against SB's range here? Are we WA/WB enough here to just call?

Pretty mediocre hand to be playing if using your shortstacking strategy. Again I'd prefer to see you raising when you're coming in to pots.

I'd think if you want to continue playing this shortstacking strategy you need to tighten your hand ranges preflop, preferring to play bigger/more connected cards and raising or 3betting with the intention of getting it in with pretty much anything you're willing to play.

I just think that playing these marginal hands, especially in limped multi-way pots is going to put you in way too many spots like this that will be tough for you to play profitably over a large sample.

I was thinking about my strat yesterday while I was playing, and I think I'm going for more of a Smash strat, because part of my half-stack strat is that I want others to play differently against me than they would if I was buying for full and reloading every time I dipped under. If we started on the premise that I WILL be buying in for half-stack, then 3-betting preflop commits me to a ton of pots that I will be crushed or marginal in, especially if I'm playing against much bigger stacks.

I dunno. It feels right and I'm making money. I know it's not optimal.

Raise preflop. This is a good hand that flops very well, start building a pot. You would raise JTs here in NLH, and this is the same situation.

I usually c/bet this flop, but I don't mind the check too much.

I'm torn between calling and raising on the turn. I probably raise (and fold to a 3bet). There are a lot of draws and weaker two pairs he can be betting, and he is very unlikely to 3bet the turn with a worse hand.
