PokerStars Pot-Limit Omaha, $0.05 BB (5 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

BB ($6.01)
Hero (UTG) ($21.51)
MP ($15.77)
Button ($14.89)
SB ($3.74)

I think preflop is pretty loose, but I have been running over this table and was not nervous about opening or 3betting from any position. Villian is new to table and played a few rounds. He is playing his position very well and shown down winners so far. Definitely an action player so far and one you want at your table.

Preflop: Hero is UTG with A icon_suit_heart.gif, 8 icon_suit_spade.gif, 6 icon_suit_heart.gif, 8 icon_suit_club.gif
Hero bets $0.15, 1 fold, Button calls $0.15, 2 folds

Flop: ($0.37) 8 icon_suit_heart.gif, 7 icon_suit_club.gif, 5 icon_suit_diamond.gif (2 players)
Hero bets $0.37, Button raises to $1.05, Hero calls $0.68

Turn: ($2.47) 3 icon_suit_diamond.gif (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets $2.37, Hero calls $2.37

River: ($7.21) Q icon_suit_spade.gif (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets $5.35, [color=#666666][i]Hero.....should have raised turn with with top set and straigth draw?

Why would you check-call the turn but check-fold that river?

I felt I could have been behind on the turn but had definite draws. He raises flop, pots turn, and bets river.

If you think you're behind on the turn, then your straight outs are worthless. You're drawing to the full house, in which case you don't have the odds to call. Especially since you won't get much more (if anything) out of him if the board pairs on the river.

I actually think the big decision point is the flop, which is typically where the decision point is in PLO. Based on what you've said about him, he sounds like he has some idea of what he's doing so you can probably credit him with a real hand on the flop. You're 40% against something like JT96, but 60% against something like QJT9 or JT77. Or, if you've been particularly active, he could be testing you with something like KKJT (which you're a big fav against).

Bottom line is that you're ahead of most of the hands he can have here, and at worst a 40% dog against his best straight hand. Depending on how accurate your read is, you could either repop on the flop or call to see what he does on the turn (at which point you should be folding to a pot bet if you think a pot bet indicates a made straight).

assume he is rational for a second.

you gotta fold this river. the only hand he can bet for value is a made straight. he could have plenty of showdownable hands that you beat but betting them would be turning them into bluffs which would be pretty stupid. so if you call you're hoping he was on some sort of bluff for three streets or decided to turn a hand which he should showdown into a bluff.
