Hero bets, MP raises, Hero needs help.

Villian is 57/11 over 65 hands and is fairly lol.

Now normally i'd b3b but I figured 78 / 2 pair is a huge part of his range and if I 3b I'm only going to get capped drawing dead, or drawing thin to a better two pair. I dont really feel like he'd show up with 47 here, so I wasnt really thinking about that at the time. Also if he has air and I b3b he's probably going to shut down and I also lose value from the times he keeps barrelling (is that flawed thinking?). The only reason I really felt like 78 was a huge part of his range was that he'd probably raise flop then flat my 3b with an OESD and then the turn raise just screams strength to me.

So my main question is: Am I losing value to the times I'm ahead and he has air, one pair or flush / random straight draw + pair combos? Or is this just a case of "I has overpair and dont hit anything else besides the raise button?"

Unless he's got a pretty high AF, I'm just calling down unless the river improves us.

You don't really need to post the results. Occasionally there will be a spot weird enough vs. a good player that we're sort of curious, but that's pretty rare. All it could do is bias opinions.

Anyway, calling down there is totally good vs. like 95% of players.

that is like the strongest line in poker. i actually call the turn and fold the river UI against a fair amount of players that i view as anywhere near predictable.

it's worth saying, though, that i really can only fold in this spot like once a session--after that, i have to pay off.

improvement is a king, or any paired cards also? i think with your line of thinking you should just fold the turn, straights make up a huge part of his range.

i agree--i really don't mind bet/folding here, either, but i do think that going to showdown on this kind of board UI tends to be a whoopsie. without any info on the villain, at those limits, i think that he has 2p enough to warrant a call on the turn. but yeah, i think it's very, very close. and the more i think about it, the more i might be leaning toward just mucking the turn, you're right.

it's worth saying that at limits where aggression with draws and pair/draw combos is a lot more common, this is an instacalldown.
