I'm cool with it. This hand actually inspired me when playing a hand today. I almost never donkbet, but I thought about this one, and the circumstances seemed right. The situation...

20/40 SHLHE 4-handed
Button raises, SB calls, I call with Js5s in BB...Flop J87 w/ two hearts...SB checks, I bet, Button calls, SB folds...Turn T...I bet, Button calls...river J...I bet, button calls with KT

Normally, particularly in that spot HU, I'd check-raise the flop, but this seemed one of those rare spots where that line seemed possibly spewy.

honestly, i fold this preflop, but we've discussed this. After that, I don't do anything different.

Jeff, that's pretty tight, folding preflop. Fourth player in, getting that price, suited. I'm also fine with how this hand was played.

I guess I'm pretty tight, then.

edit for poor reading comprehension.

play it the same.

And i do call all day getting 7-1 preflop.

calling or folding this preflop is probably very close to neutral. right now playing lots of hands is the cool new thing. two years ago if somebody posted a hand like this everybody would be all crazy jumping all over the preflop call. which is funny because two years ago everybody was all sshe! sshe! and sshe tells you to be loose in spots like this.

Playing lots of hands is great when the game is loose, but the tighter the game gets, the fewer hands you can play profitably. If we're seeing 5-7 players on each flop, I can see defending with J5s, but if you're only seeing 2-4 players per flop (which is more likely at the .50/1.00 level than 5-7 per), I'm not sure you win enough for defending with J5s to be profitable. It's a top 45-50% hand.
