Open raising the button isn't a bad play in hand 1, as you're hoping to flop the FD or disguised 2 pair, and both blinds calling builds the pot in case you flop one of your desired hands (whereas limping doesn't). Once the flop bricks, bailing is fine.

Hand 2 as played is fine, especially if villain is LAG. I probably raise flop with top pair or better. I like the c/r on the turn because it does a better job of defining our hand for villain than if we donked and he were to raise or call. He seems content to lead the action once he 3bets pre, so let him.

I prefer analyzing one hand per post.

I play Hand 1 the same.
You have to raise here preflop.
And raising the funky flop bet is a spew that will get you into lots of trouble if done consistantly without special cause.

In Hand 2, when I am 3bet preflop while holding King High, I assume I am behind.
So when I miss the flop, I consider myself drawing very thin.
I rarely peel there, out of position.
I fold the flop.

Both hands are standard.

I like CM's analysis on both hands here.

The pre-flop raise in Hand 1 is mandatory.

Without a read, I'm probably folding the flop a lot in hand 2.
