and i didnt know how to counter it.
it would fold to me in the sb. he was in the big blind. i would raise with like 235. he woudl jsut call.
i would draw two he would draw one. then i would bet and he would call.
if i didn't improve and drew two again, he would draw one and raise my bet.
now he has just set the hand up that i need to improve to win, when he doesn't.
i'm not sure if im explaining this well. its like, on the first draw i pretty much told him what i have. so i would play like he had something better. and being in position and knowing that im not going to draw two on the second draw for a big bet he kept putting himself in control of the hand and getting me to fold.
are moves like this standard? what do you do when somebody does stuff like this? was he just getting lucky that i was bricking horribly and the percentages were actually in my favor?
PLUS----
by doing this, he set up an image of himself that i actually payed him off with some hands that i would have folded other wise in different situations.
i felt like he could read me but i couldn't read him.
did i just play against somebody half way good for the first time?
