Villain is LAG: 35/28/2.9 through 57 hands. He has raised UTG a number of times before and taken down the pot. This is the first hand where I did not fold to his UTG raise.

SB ($414.80)
Hero ($595.05)
UTG ($420.50)

MP ($725.90)
CO ($425.10)

Preflop: Hero is BB with Q, A, K, A.
UTG raises to $14, 4 folds, Hero raises to $44, UTG calls $30.

Flop: ($90) Q, T, 7 (2 players)
Hero bets $87, UTG calls $87.

Thats why I don't like playing big pots with AA in plo. We still have nfd so maybe bet like $200 and pray he doesn't shove.

I only have the 2nd nfd...

Betting $200 doesn't seem right to me... If I am leading for $200, then I am definitely calling his shove.

By the turn, he only has $290 remaining and the pot has ballooned to $264, so by leading with 1/2 pot or more, I will be getting really juicy odds to call an all in raise. I will be free to admit that I hate playing large pots OOP and made a mistake before the turn by inflating the pot so much.

Meh I only think you made a mistake pre because you said you'd been folding to all of his raises. With AAKQ though it's really hard to say it's a mistake to re-raise.

Anyways, that turn is pretty rough in that it helps us/hurts us. I think we should bet pot; just gotta it see if he has it/wants to gamble here. If he has two pair we can hopefully buy it, and if he has a straight (or set and wants to go) we have a lot of outs. In fact the more I look at it the more I think it's a clear shovel, unless you can give more info on villain. If he had a big wrap he probably wants to shove the flop, no? Hands like QJ9x or 9865 are certainly part of his range, but again we would have 11ish outs if he did happen to hit his straight.

If you had decided to keep the pot smaller pre then we could think about check-folding, but I don't want to give up a 60+bb pot with fold equity and solid draws. If we repot pre and then also decide to pot the flop, I think we gotta fire the last bullet too.

Agreed.

I chose this hand to pose the general troubles of playing OOP. We need to balance two often opposing goals:
1) Avoiding inflating the pot with mediocre (but probable best) hands --especially OOP
2) Protect the best hand and avoid getting outdrawn.

Although I posed the question on my turn play, bdc and tim were both correct in pointing out that by this point in the hand (due to pot size versus remaining stack size), it was straightforward as to what I should do.

I potted the turn and my opponent shoved the rest of his stack. A quick call followed by the jack of clubs on the river and a nice $840 pot got pushed in my direction. My opponent mucked [Qd Js Td 4s] for top two pair and exactly 50/50 equity when the money went in on the turn.
