I'm almost certain he doesn't have the 2, he wouldn't have raised the flop there. The check on the turn is incredibly suspicious, he raises the flop and doesn't lead the turn? He's trying to represent strength, but then gives up? How do we feel about the bet on the turn? Should I have bet more to discourage the raise?

raise or fold preflop. he can totally have the 2 fold the turn.

I do raise with just about anything i see the flop (running 27/21/2.7 atm) with, except middle and small pairs, I'm looking to flop a set or bounce, but this hand was interesting, i know it's possible he could have the 2 pre flop, but based on the betting post flop it's not likely. I didn't have enough hands on him for a great read, but he was aware that I had been fairly aggressive.

Yeah I think a 2 is still in his range on the turn. He can easily have a 9.

I don't see why he would randomly checkraise the flop with air in a pot so small.

Unless you have seen him be super agro in the past then I don't think a call down here will show a profit in the long run.

Should have just raised preflop and he would have folded most likely.

If he has something, you are pretty much always behind (unless he is doing this with 33-66).

Raise PF. That's the best way to make $ against someone holding a 2. Not after they flopped trips.

Alright, I see that it probably wasn't a +EV decision in the long term, but I called just because I was pretty sure he was bluffing and he flipped 55, which just as easily could have been 88+, thanks for the input guys, I've changed the way I play small/medium pairs now, since most of the time if i flop a set after open limping the pots not big enough to get much action anyway.
