*** WARNING: UNSOLICITED ADVICE ***
(Just ignore this post if you didn't want any advice on the hands)

Hand #1: I accidentally saw the results for this hand (all other hands, I gave advice before I read the results). Thus, my advice may be skewed a bit (although I don't think so...)
I'm not a big fan of top pair+OESD on a 3-way flop.

I take two approaches on this hand.
1) Bet out and fold to any raise on the flop
2) Check, and see action.
-If the button checks, I plan to lead any safe turn cards or any of my gin cards.
-If the button bets and UTG+1 folds, then 60 % of the time, I call and lead on *any* turn, and the other 40% of the time, I checkraise him.
-If the button bets and UTG+1 calls, then I call and play straightforward on turn
-If the button bets and UTG+1 raises, then I fold.

Hand #2:
Looks fine to the river. My river action is heavily dependent on the quality of player in the BB. My default here (without info) is to call such a smallish "value bet", but if I think the BB is a quality PLO player (or a tight nit), I don't mind folding here because the obvious draw connected on the turn (really, all you can beat is a bluff).

Hand #3:
I check that flop too. I hate bottom set OOP against 4 opponents on a coordinated board, so if there were any other callers or raisers, I'm folding on the flop to the BB bet. Depending on the type of player in the BB, I can either fold, call, or raise his bet once it's heads-up. My default is actually to fold or raise here.

Hand #4:
Looks fine.
BudBundy
It is ****in frustrating. They are supposed to hit less times than we hold up. Instead they hit over and over.

How am i supposed to keep playing good when i put my money in as at least %60 fav all the time and lose EVERY MOTHER****IN EACH OF THEM?

I was check/calling until I noticed how short button was. He only had about $9 left on the flop so I figured I'd raise to isolate. I was pretty certain he had a set, but I was getting good enough odds to put him allin.

Against full stacks this is a pretty marginal spot.

Ouch! I have a hand just like that from a 2/4 table on Sunday. We were heads-up on the flop, and we ended up repotting each other back and forth until we were allin. He had middle set and filled up. I think it was for $1,000 or so... (I'm at work right now, so I don't have the HH in front of me). The good news is that it happened early during a session where I started off dropping 4.5 buyins, but eventually made it all back plus an extra $25 or so. I hope the same comeback is in your near future as well.

Oops, I missed UTG+1 chip stack at that point. Yes, in that case, I may do the exact same thing --especially if I think the UTG+1 overvalues his hands post flop.

It's funny - the actual cash doesn't bother me. It's the buyins. How many BB I lose. I can get annoyed over dropping two buyins at 2c/5c or at 10c/25c.

Losing $50 at $10PLO would be more annoying than losing $300 at $100PLO.

I agree completely. The pot I tangled in probably totaled 2 buy-ins --one of which was from me sad.gif.

It was a very swingy day, because that is the first time I ever put 4.5 buy-ins into one table (online) without a break. The play was just so atrocious, that I figured --if I kept a level head-- it would all come back to me. It was, however, high stress to know I was risking so many buyins to do this. If it weren't for the fact that it was 6:30 am, and I was dog tired (and had to "get up" in 4 hours), I would have happily stayed, because even when I left, there were two *HUGE* PLO fish sitting with double buy-in stacks. I only dream of running across a table like that again soon.

It's all about how long it *should* take you to win that back by sticking to the same level and eking out your BB/100 winrate. In that case, it's really the number of buyins won or lost at a given level, rather than amount of money won or lost that is the determining factor as to how long it will take (on average) to make that money back.

I am not that sure about this.

A while ago I played some $1 heads up games on Pacific for a laugh. I lost 7 or 8 by randomly shoving blind every hand, but I kept losing 50 50s and 60/40s. I also lost a 75/25. I started to tilt. And I mean proper, full on tilt. I was joining them and trying to play seriously, but I would do things like check shove bottom pair in the 3rd hand because I was so damn annoyed at losing every time. I ended up losing about $20 playing those, and I was amazed that I could seriously tilt playing such tiny stakes.

Why is it that I sit down with someone to play HU, and after like 3 hands I get 4 shortstackers coming to the table and playing tight?

I want to play shorthanded FFS.

I would just like to mention that the PLO strat forum is a helluva lot more popular than it was 6 months ago. Nice to see smile.gif.
simo_8ball
I remember the days when this forum was Bud posting a hand, and me and him discussing it. Every now and then someone else would pop in for a couple of days, but for long enough we were the only regulars.

I actually only started posting in here because I knew a little about the game and noone else seemed to be responding at all.

I finally got that PokerEV program that everyone's talking about on 2+2. Looks like luck's had a lot more to do with my results then I thought, both in April when I was running bad and lately when I've been running well. Here are April and August graphs of Sklansky bucks vs. actual winnings:

April:

August:

I did definitely tilt and start playing bad in April, but I think it was just that I wasn't used to running that bad that sent me into the tilt spiral in the first place.
Oh, and Full Tilt's definitely rigged.
