Here's my first day/attempt at $50plo. Can't complain - I'm playing tight for right now until I get comfortable, and I'm also thinking that I'm gonna put a stop-loss on myself for this month - any session that I'm down 3 buyins, I am going to walk away OR drop back to 25 for that day. Though I have the correct bankroll technically for this level, I know it came from that one score, not from grinding, so I want to get a solid footing at $50. First day stats were 26/4/3.5 for 711 hands.

Ok, that's almost spooky, given what happened on October 31st...........

I November so far. Already more profit from PLO cash games than I had in all of October if you don't count the time I was tilting in my hotel room at the Wynn and put my whole online roll on two tables.



I have to give special thanks to my new buddy "fivesn6s" who managed to personally lose $660 to me over the course of 175 hands by getting it in behind pretty much every time, and then proceeding to berate me pretty much every time as if I should have known to fold my overpair + Q-hi FD when he pushed with bottom pair and a 7-hi FD. To be fair, it wasn't all at 0.5/1, as I actually followed him to a couple 1/2 tables and busted him within 10 hands on each one.

this hand got me back to even for the day. I'm gonna mix some 25 back in to my game. I like being overrolled, I'm MUCH more comfortable. My aggression numbers, stats and results are FAR superior at 25 today than they have been all week at 50. We'll see how things go, but I'll be playing some 25 for the next little bit, with 50 as well.

Ok, so the graphs/stats/results sort of speak for themselves. Playing 50 will get me more rakeback, etc, but at what cost?? Should I keep it going at $25 being that I'm more comfortable and aggressive with a deeper roll??

If you're more comfortable at $25PLO then stay there until you feel comfortable with your game.

Good to see you're raising nearly 7% preflop now. I think that should be a little higher, but I think you should start having better results with more aggression.

It looks like you're really changing your game at $50 PLO, dropping your VPIP and PFR way down, which is a huge mistake if true. The biggest leak in your game right now is that you're too passive preflop and the last thing you want to do is make that leak even worse when you're playing for higher stakes.

I know you think that you can still gain an edge on your opponents if you wait for really good spots to attack, but the fact is that just gaining an edge isn't enough. At low stakes, the rake takes a huge amount of money off the table every hour and you have to be fighting to exploit every edge to be able to still make a profit. I've got 15,000 hands at 0.25/0.50 PLO (6 max) and over that time, I've gotten raked 10.8 BB/100. That's how much I need to take off my opponents just to break even. Now I know that you're playing less aggressively and you're getting some rakeback, so that number's not quite as high, but you still can't afford to not be maximizing your opportunities or it won't be possible for you to turn a profit.

Why oh why do I give these tourney players any credit whatsoever. This is O8/b.
