I'm ok with my play here. I figured two pair would be good, and the straight would be good. I didn't think he had a flush draw particularly, so I thought a heart was a good card to bet too.

I played this bad. I should shovel the flop, and I 100% should check behind on the river. Backdoor spades hit and I somehow thought I could rep it and he would fold. I was a very slight favourite on the flop despite him having a FD as well. Still, it's a frustrating pot to lose.

I just posted this on 2p2, but I honestly think that it's the best way for you to learn how to become more aggro (or at least understand the aggro mentality):

Play a session at 5c/10c or 10c/25c, and never call preflop. Raise, reraise or fold. If you aren't comfortable reraising, just fold. After a little while you should start becoming comfortable with different hands in reraised pots. This should have a knockon effect for your postflop play as well.

The problem I think you may have had recently (and we have briefly discussed it) is that you are trying to 'open up' in the wrong areas with the wrong hands. This exercise could go a long way towards resolving that issue.

Obviously removing preflop calls from your game isn't good long term, but for one session I can almost guarantee it will give you great insight into where you should become more aggro and with what hands.

Today I was sat simultaneously at 4 tables with $300, $190, $125 and $95, and I was still down $220 for the session.

Those last 3 hands look like my last month. Total and complete spewage. Fortunately, I only had 2K hands in the past 6 weeks and I found a huge donater to somewhat offset my spewage.

Hand 1: I was getting almost 3:1, and forgot about the guy that was allin. I just forgot that he had AA as well, so I was assuming something like 6 outs.

Hand 2: Villain there was a LAG swede and we had been shoving on each other regularly.

Hand 3: I didn't actually see that it was a paired flop, I thought it was T34 or T35 or something. I put villain on KK or QQ, and thought he would either fold the turn or I'd have plenty of outs.

On the flop I have a lock, and I'd like to encourage a little more action possibly from flush draws. I guess there's not too much difference, but I wanted to rep a weak hand.

On the turn I should have potted it, but again, I was concerned about losing a flush.

On the river the only hand he can realistially have is 8xxx IMO (especially given I have the Ac). Why would he call the turn with a flush if he's bluffing the river?

His flop call would be a standard slowplay (because every ************ waits for a safe turn on every hand obv), and he instacalled the turn, which could be a flush, but more likely is he still has trips and he is looking to boat up.

He seemed pretty genuine in the chat that he had quads, anyway.
